ZETA of America Endorses Joe Biden’s Decisions to Appoint Jennifer Granholm as Secretary of Energy and Pete Buttigieg as Secretary of Transportation
The American Association ZETA, a professional association of manufacturers of electric vehicles, electric public transport, charging equipment, batteries, battery recyclers, spoke favorably about the announced first appointments by President-elect Joe Biden. Jennifer Granholm, former Governor of Michigan, is appointed to the post of Energy Secretary, and Pete Buttidzic in the Biden government will be the Secretary of Transportation.
Following the announcement of her appointment, Jennifer Granholm reaffirmed her commitment to the policy of developing innovative, clean energy technologies, while creating millions of new jobs on her Twitter account. Pete Buttigieg also stressed that the main tasks of his work in the new post will be to create jobs, fight the climate crisis and ensure the transformation of the entire transport sector and create the necessary infrastructure — «To cope with the climate crisis, we must put millions of new electric vehicles on America’s roads. «It’s time to build a public clean energy charging infrastructure and make it available in all parts of the country.»
Putting aside the pathos that usually only sounds in the words of appointed officials, one must understand that the members of the team of the new White House administration are not just ideologically imprisoned people who have pursued their policies throughout the years of Trump’s presidency, including by creating the US Climate Alliance. but they also have full support from all innovative-minded people, including the «green», from the heads of start-ups and companies, which, for example, are members of the ZETA Association. And this Association includes such companies as #tesla, #rivian, #arrival, ABB, ChargePoint, Enel X, EVBox, EVgo, Faraday Future, Li-Cycle, Lordstown Motors, #lucid motors, NextEra Energy, Proterra, #siemens, Uber. It is effectively a «trade union» of representatives of the new industry, which will work to achieve the goal of achieving
And it will certainly be a race for leadership with China, which is following the same path, and only gaining momentum every year. Europe will most likely act here not as an actor, but will simply receive bonuses from both main players. As for Russia, given the practically hostile relations with the United States and strained with the European Union, it is likely to integrate into the wake formation behind China. In any case, we will not get away from electric mobilization. We will simply enter this process not as an active participant, setting the pace and technologies, but simply as a consumer who is forced to rebuild its transport and energy policy.
