The long-awaited premiere of the first electric car of the Škoda brand, the Enyaq iV SUV, built on the Volkswagen MEB platform, took place this week in Prague.
At the beginning of August
It is also worth noting that Škoda retains its distinctive design, and the Enyaq iV will visually differ significantly from its «older» brother in the VW Group, the VW ID.4 SUV.
Another important point is that the Enyaq iV will not be produced in Zwickau, but at the company’s own plant in Mlada Boleslav. To do this, since last year, the plant has been working on the modernization of the production line so that it is possible to simultaneously assemble electric vehicles on the MEB platform and cars on the MQB platform. The transformation of the production line cost the company 32 million euros.
Michael Oeleklaus, ŠKODA AUTO Management Board Member for Production and Logistics, emphasized: “
Prospective buyers will have a choice between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, and three types of batteries with different capacities —
The body of the ŠKODA Enyaq has been designed in such a way that the interior space is as spacious and comfortable as possible. The luggage compartment has a volume of 585 liters, which is also very spacious. And this is not yet folding back the sofa.

A pivoting trailer hitch with electrical release is available as an option. Standard equipment includes dual-zone air conditioning, leather multifunction steering wheel, DAB radio and LED headlights.
In principle, even the basic equipment of the Enyaq iV offers such a rich set of equipment that one could immediately classify this electric car as a luxury class.
The interior options are decoupled from other equipment features that were often part of more expensive equipment (such as leather seats, automatic climate control, and navigation). In the future, the interior can be tailored with what the company calls «Design Choices», which, for example, feature seat covers, trim finishes and dashboard materials. Sometimes (as in the base model) it will be more laconic, sometimes more modern and homey, sometimes classically luxurious, sometimes sporty.
There will be ten theme packs available.
In the interior, the Enyaq 50 iV already has a ten-inch display and touch-sensitive control buttons. A free-standing 13-inch touchscreen is installed in premium versions, but the system should also be able to be controlled with gestures and Laura’s digital voice assistant. Also, the car is constantly online via #esim.
Since the classic center tunnel of combustion engine models is no longer required, these spaces have now been redesigned to give the future electric vehicle owner more space and storage space for everything they need. The bridge-style center console not only provides a 6.2-liter storage compartment, but also an 11.4-liter shelf under the bridge. A highlight is that the usual storage compartments have been integrated into the backrests of the front seats, with two more small pockets for storing smartphones.
In terms of charging, # škoda plans to offer its charging card with the MyŠkoda Powerpass, which will include an unspecified base price for the first three years. Also, a wall charger will be offered for customers with a personal garage.
