Tesla is preparing to roll out the next generation Supercharger network in China — V3. The initial investment in its creation is estimated at a fairly modest size for #tesla, only $ 6.42 million. More precisely, these funds will go to the creation of a plant for the production of charging equipment. This plant will be located, like China’s Gigafactory Tesla, in Shanghai. The new plant is now said to have a production capacity of 10,000 V3 superchargers.
By the end of 2021, Tesla, thanks to a new production unit, intends to create a network in 250 Chinese cities from 650 charging stations, which will have about 5,000 charging «columns». This is in addition to the more than 300 Tesla Superchargers already in operation in China.
In the electric vehicle charging service, Tesla will also face stiff competition from local manufacturers. NIO develops its branded network of charging stations, and
The next «charging dragons» are #xiaopeng Motors, Weimar Motors, and a whole host of other Chinese automakers. Now in China, the number of charging ports exceeds 300,000. This, of course, includes all types of charging infrastructure, from slow outlets in parking lots to fast superchargers. And taking into account the emerging «electric car race» between the United States and China, and the plans for global electric mobility, in the next couple of years this figure will overcome the mark of
