Rivian is considering the possibility of creating a separate line of electric vehicles for Europe and China
While at the company’s plant in Normal, Illinois, they are pre-assembling the first two models of SUVs, and adjusting the production process, the head of the company, Robert Scaring, has received information about the next steps of Rivian. These steps will be the development for the European and Chinese markets of more compact models of SUVs, light electric cars, as well as, possibly, the organization of its production in these regions.
The last phrase, most likely, suggests that the company is considering in the future the possibility of creating production in these markets, that is, in Europe, and in China. Here you can add that this is the only thing that makes sense if you want to firmly establish yourself in new locations. And given that the major shareholders of the company are Amazon and Ford Motor, it can also be assumed that there will be no shortage of investment funds (recalling the large contract for the production and supply of electric vans for Amazon), and, of course, can be used as a potential production site. after conversion, one of the Ford factories in Europe. By the way, it would be cool if the former Ford plant in Vsevolozhsk (Leningrad region) became this plant. If our politicians were more forward-thinking, they would do their best to invite Rivian to Russia.
