Renault’s new Renaulution strategy will transform the entire Renault Groupe, and will affect AvtoVAZ products, including the new Niva

Groupe Renault is moving towards a new business model, moving away from the principles of volume to the principles of value. That is, the main indicator of the company’s profitability becomes. For this, costs, production areas, and logistics chains will be optimized. A more lucrative product portfolio will be created with 24 new models by 2025, half of them in C / D segments, and of this number of new models at least 10 models of pure electric vehicles. Optimizing the use of production facilities in Europe, and in particular in France, should make the company a leader in the electromobility industry.

Whether the new strategy will be able to make the company a leader in the electric vehicle industry is difficult to say, but it is undeniable that it will be among the leaders, especially considering the Alliance with Nissan.
According to the new strategy
In 2024, a new «Niva» will be launched into production. It will also be built on the CMF-B platform.
During the Renaulution, the #alpine brand will become 100% electric, its products will be based on the CMF-B and CMF-EV platforms. And together with Lotus, development of the next generation electric sports car will begin.
What is the bottom line. The company has adopted a deep modernization program. It will affect almost all of its segments, from the use of production space to the work of an office worker. Everything is subject to optimization and efficiency. The plan is, by and large, calculated until 2025, since this particular year is most often seen as an extreme time period. So it is rather not a strategic and tactical medium-term plan. But he is already talking about the direction of development of Groupe Renault — this is, of course, electrification. This will happen at different speeds for the different brands in the group. Of course, the most bleak fate here goes to VAZ. Although he will use the CMF-B platform, the maximum «decarbonization» will go to is the introduction of NGV technology. There are most likely political aspects here, since the owner of 96% of AvtoVAZ shares is Alliance Rostec Auto BV, a joint venture between Renault and the state corporation #Rostec. That is, any radical changes in this direction can be expected only after 2024-25.
