At the moments of each change in the technological order in the history of mankind, people appear with whom they begin to associate this time for their contribution to the development of science and technology. For example, the beginning of the second technological order, around 1830, was marked by the creation of a workable steam locomotive design. At the same time, the steam locomotive itself was invented in Europe back in the 60s of the previous century by the engineer Nicolas-Jose Cugno. But this technique began to develop rapidly only in the 20-30s of the 19th century. It is noteworthy that in Russia the creators of this technique were the serfs of the Ural breeders Demidovs. Serfs, father and son — Efim and Miron Cherepanovs, striving for knowledge and creation, showed the talent of self-taught engineers, having built, after a business trip to Europe, the first Russian steam locomotive. At the same time, their equipment did not go beyond the factory territories. By the way, they still got their freedom, and lived the rest of their lives free.

The arrival of the sixth technological order is associated with the name of Elon Musk. But at this time in Russia, too, we had our own interesting personalities, who also went through the implementation of their innovative ideas.

Denis Sverdlov, like the current president of Russia, is from Leningrad. He was born in Leningrad on June 6, 1978. By the way, it was this generation, still in the Soviet era, although at its end, could dream of something great and lofty, space, inventions, and so on. But in the 90s, we had to reorient ourselves, adapt to the rapidly changing economic and social formation, in order not only to survive, but also to continue the path to the dream. In 2000, he graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Engineering and Economics with an economics degree. In the same year he began his professional career. First, the joint venture IT Vision and Corus Consulting was created, in which Denis Sverdlov was a member of the board of directors. In 2007 he became the CEO of Skartel LLC (Yota), and in 2010 he became the head of the Yota Group. Yota became a breakthrough project in Russian telecommunications, and quickly gained popularity as one of the best mobile Internet operators. In the first five months of commercial operation alone, Yota reached operating profit, and during this time approximately 100,000 people became their clients.

In July 2012, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Communications and Mass Media of Russia. He worked in this position for a little over a year, but during this time he managed to do a lot of useful things. Including on his account the adoption of the law, according to which mobile users can change the operator, while leaving behind their phone number. But according to the adopted law, according to which a civil servant should not have a foreign residence permit and business abroad, he left the civil service. After the purchase of Yota by Megafon, Denis Sverdlov finally moved to the UK, where he founded the Arrival electric car company.

And so, having created the Arrival company, Sverdlov decided not only to create a commercially demanded electric car, primarily focused on urban transport companies and delivery services, but to develop a fundamentally new technological process of their production so that it could be scaled up in the shortest possible time, in different parts of the planet. … As I wrote earlier, if Elon Musk went through the creation of a Tesla Gigafactory at key points in the global automotive market, then Denis Sverdlov went a perpendicular path, and

If this technology is fully operational in the next two or three years, and we see an increase in the number of Arrival Microfactory, in addition to the plant in the UK and near New York, then Denis Sverdlov’s company will become a new technology giant by the end of the third decade.

Yes, the initial period from the history of any company is very difficult. Just remember how many years opponents of electric vehicles and Elon Musk, as the catechumens, shouted everywhere about Tesla’s unprofitableness. And where are all these screamers now? And they are where they were, but #tesla went uphill, became the number 1 car company in the world, and at the same time generating profit, despite the fact that a significant part of the cash inflow still goes to expand the production base. The same will happen with Arrival. Now the company is in the stage of growth and expansion of production. 3 years to reach profitability is quick.

Denis Sverdlov

Let me remind you that he also founded the #roborace project, within the framework of which unmanned electric racing cars are being developed and created.
